Changing spark plugs on Mazda 929

I am having a problem changing the spark plugs. It appears that the seal has compressed causing a problem for the socket to get to the plug. Do I need to simply apply enough pressure to get by the seal?

It also appears that the seals are leaking oil causing a problem with the plugs performance. Is changing the seals a big of a problem as it appears?

Thanks

If I remember correctly the plug wire ends were good size bigger than a spark plug socket. If your still having a problem reply and I will look in my factory manual. I remember I used an extra long spark plug socket but a normal spark plug socket and an extension will work. Mazda uses a rubber gasket and you would have to change the valve cover. Not an easy job but easier than a Volvo which uses the cover to hold the camshafts. Mazda camshafts are bolted down at the bearings.
