No heatCliff03 10-12-2006, 03:01 PM I have a 2003 GC Limited. Of course it has the dual climate control feature, however there is no heat coming out of either side. Any ideas on what could be wrong? Thanks for any feedback. mkvapil 12-01-2006, 11:10 PM I've got the same thing wrong with my 2003 Jeep GC Limited but only the heat work on passenger side. Also the air recirculation doesn't work and i can smell exhaust crap, sewer smell, and other crap coming into the vent. Bob D. 12-02-2006, 03:44 AM You both have the dreaded blend door failure. It affects many GC Limiteds because of the of automatic "zone" HVAC used. The blend door linkage breaks or the electric door actuator motor goes bad and the result is heat on one side or neither. It's an expensive fix, the dash usually has to come out. In a few cases, if you are getting no heat on the drivers side only, it can be repaired by removing the glove box. But it sounds like both have passenger side problems. (dash removal required) Also the air recirculation doesn't work and i can smell exhaust crap, sewer smell, and other crap coming into the vent. This is a secondary failure of the re-circulation assembly and the recirc. door is stuck open.(dash removal) Some people think a recall is inevitable because of the number Grands affected. About all you can do for now is fix it and file a complaint with NHTSA. > http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ mkvapil 12-02-2006, 10:56 AM i just learned that there is a way to run a diagnostic for the HVAC system by pressing A/C and Recirculation button at the same time and turn the left temp clock wise. I got code 52, 54, and 56. I'll find out what these codes mean. By the way, do press A/C and Recir. button again to get out of the diagnostic mode. mkvapil 12-02-2006, 11:00 AM Here it is: 52 = AI (Recirc) door travel range too large 54 = Left temperature door travel too large 56 = Right temperature door travel too large Bingo. Good thing we bought extended warranty from the bank when we applied for the loan. Bloomberg 12-05-2006, 11:01 AM I have the same problem here on my jeep (Passengers side) how much did it cost to get it repaired?? Bloomberg 12-08-2006, 10:33 AM Anyone?? Bob D. 12-08-2006, 09:41 PM If the dash has to come out, the prices I've seen range from $900.00 to $1600.00. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
