ls tuboor or gsr with mods?angelbk 10-07-2006, 09:18 PM I have done some research on turbos just want to know some opinions on if it is was worth putting a turbo on an ls and will I take a non turbo but with some mods gsr. thanks in advance Schister66 10-08-2006, 02:11 AM LS turbo is the way to go....then once you get the money to go a little crazier, just sleeve the LS block and get a ported VTEC head...LS/VTEC + Boost would be a blast. A lot of the higher HP turbo cars i know of are LS/VTEC or straight LS engines...their only downfall is the head. You can still make 300whp on the stock block though --my setup is for sale and it would easily make 350whp on an LS....pm me for more detail....**end sales pitch** angelbk 10-08-2006, 02:46 PM thanks and it will be the ls with a turbo i just got a good deal on one Schister66 10-08-2006, 05:31 PM well lets hear the setup....and please dont say SSAutoChrome... AudioGuy93DelSol 10-09-2006, 11:39 AM Or XS power for that matter. They both are complete pieces of junk. Schister66 10-09-2006, 04:37 PM pm'd back angelbk 10-09-2006, 09:53 PM picked the ls it alredy has a couple of mods and i think it will make a good base car dc header & full exhaust cold air intake dropped on 17's short shift kit front stut tower bar repo friend picked it up from repo thought i would be interested I took it for a ride and felt strong someone got started on this project and i guess forgot to make the payments I pick it up on friday then i can look it over with more detail and find out a little more about the set up hondacivic99sivtec 10-09-2006, 11:12 PM the down fall on las engines is the bottom end. they can only take about 8 psi. the rod bolts suck. they are way too weak. if you want to go ls/vtec let me know. i got a buddy with parts. EVERY part to do it. read the sig. and figure out what you want. but an ls/vtec turbo is definitly a great engine. Schister66 10-10-2006, 01:37 AM LS can hold good power, but they cant rev out as high....pick a smaller turbo so that its more streetable....T3/T04E 54 trim .63 ar would be a good one angelbk 10-10-2006, 09:26 AM well i going to drive the car for aboout a month so I can work on it and do some test like compression test just to make sure she can handle the turbo. But I do need a good honda tuner in brooklyn ny Not a part changer but a actual tuner I can change parts myself need someone to help me get the most power out of these aftermarket part sjkelly 11-07-2006, 10:12 PM ok turbo s is the way to go...its gonna cost anywhere from 2-5k depending on how wild you go...the ls bottom end is fine..dont listen to the people who say "you can only boost 9 psi"..the stock block is only as good as the tuner...tuning is everything...the rod blots are weak because there from a d series motor but they wont break on you as long as you keep your stock redline, once you start to rev around 8 they will be the first part to go..but i vote ls turbo ftw vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
