2002 Camry Surge

I juSt took in my Camry for a Surge iSSue. It would surge and slightly hesitate while operating it from 3-80MPH. The service manager stated that Toyota knew of the problem and has not addressed it.

Now I purchased this vehicle used so I do not know the repair/service history. But I do know that the ABS makes a noise like I ran over a small branch, and the slight surging issue has me baffeled.

The Service Manager kept me informed about what was going on and that this car does not have the throttle cable but it gets a signal from the input (pedal attached to a throttle position sensor i am assuming) and sends it to the Engine Control Unit.

After reading the "sludge" issue I am woundering if I should look into it. This car was built 9/01.

Anyway any information that any one has would be appreciated.

Thx
