:uhoh: Hi. I previously posted regarding what I thought was a transmission problem but it ended up being that one of the wires on my spark plugs was disconnected...now my jeep runs better...but I have this problem..it still is idles a bit rough. It almost sounds and feels like a miss. When I go from a stop it is hesitating also...another thing that is driving me crazy is this..It sounds like I have alot if road noise all of a sudden. What could be causing this?? I put new tires on my jeep three months ago and I noticed a change then. This is really really loud....its got me stumped....any ideas..??
pulleeeze!!! thanks in advance..

95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited..105 thousand miles...

What kind of tire did you have and what type did replace them with?
Tires can make a big difference when it comes to road noise - sedan type touring tires are usually the least noisy, while SUV/truck type tires cause the most road noise.

As for the engine problems, since the plug wire was disconnected while you were driving it, the spark plug may have gotten fouled up.
Or it could just need a tune up (spark plugs, air filter and maybe plug wires) but it could be other things as well.

The tires I used to have were BF Goodrich All Terrains..The new ones are BF Goodrich Land Terrains..I really think the ATs were quieter!
Good advise on the sparkplug situation..Im going to do just that and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for your response...Im really at a loss here and any ideas on this are more than appreciated.

As far as your rough idle - IAC (idle air controller) clean or replace. Disconnect battery and adjust before replacing. Replace ignition coil. This cured my rough idle. SJ
