Recently my 5th gear pops out when I step on the gas. Is there some kind of catch that keeps it there during operation?

This is very common in B13 SE-R's, but haven't heard of it much otherwise. I know there is a fix for the SE-R but I don't know if it would work for a GA engine. People have also just used bungee cords for long drives.

it should work for the ga engine. dont they share the same transmission? i dont know currently how to do the fix, but it shoudnt be more than 100 bucks if you have like the dealership or a mechanic do it for you.

you could get your tranny rebuilt...im gonna guess 3rd gear isnt far behind 5th as far as its destruction goes
