Squeaking Brakes

Hello
I have a 6 cylinder toyota camry. After driving for a while, my brakes will squeak. I thought I needed to have the brake pads changed. When I took it to the shop, they could find nothing wrong with the pads. They said that sometimes brakes will squeak. Is this true and what could be causing the squeaks.

no lube or "anti-squeal ( looks like a sealant, but it's not)" on the anti-squeal shims
debri between the pad and the rotor
I assumed your brakes were checked for loose hardware and pad thickness.
