Friends, how can I (a complete novice) check the fuel pressure on my 91 Bonneville? Thanks!

It would be beneficial to know the engine size but to check the fuel pressure you need a fuel pressure guage. You can usually rent one from an autoparts store. Connect the fuel pressure by connecting the guage to the shrader fitting on the fuel rail. They are in different locations on different engine sizes so you may have to look to find it. Once you connect the guage turn the key on and the pressure should show on the guage. Read the number and that is the pressure. If you start the car you with the guage connected you will see a brief drop but the pressure should remain stable or go up slightly. Generally there is a range for the engine size but if you have a fuel injected engine then the reading should be at least 40-45 psi.
