I know threads have been done with gas mileage, but many are unclear the specific model. I am looking at a Crew Cab 4x4 from 1999-2007. Just wondering what people are actually getting for mpg. If you could specify year and engine size that would be great. Thanks.

2005 Silverado Crew Cab Z71 5.3 liter V8
Average: 16.0mpg on 29,000mi.

All stock except an K&N Air Filter.

2004 Silvy 2500 HD 6.0, Tow pkg., Plow pkg., Crew Cab, 265BFG's w/o Tonnneau. 12.3 avg. With some heavy towing included.
Will be checking it next fill up with the Tonneau cover installed.

2003 GMC Sierra 1500HD 4x4 short bed, Leer shell with 33,000 miles. 15.2 mpg hwy 14.3 mpg mixed driving and 12.7 mpg towing 27 foot camper to Oregon and back. All stock no mods whatsoever.

1999 Z71 5.3L K&N Hypertech 16mpg all the time

thanks guys. one of my co-workers has a 2004 with about 16k and the 5.3L and he consistently gets 20mpg. just thought i would get some more values.
