My 1990 Corolla pops out of 5th gear when I come off the gas, all other gears are fine. Transmission or linkage problem? I have noticed a lot of movement in the gear shifter only in 5th.:rolleyes:

I'd guess at a shifter fault, because of the extra slop. You probably should get it checked as the interal transmission parts will wear if it's "half in gear"
