Stumbling on acceleration.... help!!

I've just done a minor service my girlfriends 97 mirage - new air filter, plugs, oil, oil filter... I thought it'd fix a problem with 'stumbling' on acceleration.

What happens is that in 1st, and more noticably in 2nd gear with partial throttle, the car will stumble... upon applying full throttle it will fuel normally and accelerate normally (for having the pedal flat to the floor that is)... This symptom is worse when the car is cold.

I suspect the oxygen sensor in the exhaust manifold may be bad - but before I replace this I thought I'd ask if anyone has some advice on what it could be... (ECU, Injectors, Leads.... ???). I am also running a fuel injector cleaner through the fuel system but it appears to have no effect (no surprises there really).

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers John.
