Got back to the track last night

Took the Trans Am down to race last night.
Remember, I race at 5800 feet above sea level.

First pass...
Launched from right around 3700 RPM's and took off. Problem is, it was my first time hooking like that, and I got a little excited about it. Ended up launching hard and then smacking the clutch pulling it out of gear. Video of this is kinda funny. :icon16:

Second pass...
Felt good out of the hole, but this time I was pussyfooting it. Trap speed is down because when I shifted into 4th it got loose. Backed off the throttle 50%.

Third pass...
Looking good. Still in the 1.8xx for short times though. She probably has an 11.6-11.7 in her when I get a good solid driveshaft under her.

Fourth pass...
Launch was nice on this one as well. But I went from 3500 RPM's and it bogged a touch. Came pretty close to pulling a tire. :icon16:

None of these passes were full on balls to the wall. I was scared for my driveshaft.
I have much more footage than this, but this is all you get for now.

Those times are hella great, especially for the altitude.
So, your car, with a better driveshaft, and at sea level, should run 10's all motor? At least, that's my guesstimation.

Rofl. You go down any more and you can't go back without a cage. Or can you??

Mr. Luos

11.49 and faster require a cage.

This is my 12.0 pass.
Best sixty and trap on this one.
Bogs though...you can see the front come down a little.

That's hot. You should come down to a better altitude with a beefier driveshaft and a better launch and see how ya do.

true, did you ever get the front wheel to jump off the track at all? With my car being all stock except the exhaust it was still a rush for me to.

Doubt it.
No tire pull.

doesn't look like you are launching hard enough to get tire pull. very nice runs.
i went to the last event at the local track on friday and there was an early 70's camaro that managed to pull all 4 wheels off the ground, smashing the oil pan and front suspension on the landing. pretty sick to see

man that would suck. someone post a vid that a newer camaro did that, popped a frickin wheely. That would be such a rush....
