97 Jimmy Oil Filter Location

I'm changing oil in my boyfriends Jimmy and I looked in the Haynes manual and it says the oil filter is under a cover....where is this located? Is it remote?? Its a 4.3L V6.

yes the oil filter is remote. look under the front of the truck. There will be a plastic skid plate with a door on it that says oil filter access. just turn the screw with a flat head to open the door.
