My clutch is driving me nuts

So, this is the second forum page I've come to searching for help.

Because I drive like a perverbial maniac, I burned up my clutch. Instead of replacing it with stock parts I ordered a new clutch kit from ACT. When I got the kit, I pulled the transmission out of my car, and the new throw-out bearing pressed on, and replaced the clutch disc, and pressure plate. After reassembly, I went to try it out and the pedal went to the floor. After bleeding the hydraulic lines, no air was found, and the problem remained, so after sometime I dropped it to the floor to find that at the bottom of the pedal travel, there was just enough to shift gears. I admitted defeat and took it to Infiniti. The tech told me I put in the wrong pressure plate and that was the problem. He guaranteed that If I replaced it with the old one, the pedal would work right. So,... back home, back up, and out comes the transmission again. Long story short,... he was wrong. I have since learned how to get the tranny back out and in in about an hour and a half, so I put the old setup back in,... pedal works perfect. Tried the old clutch disc with the new pressure plate: Pedal works perfect. What I've noticed is, that with the new disc, when the pressure plate is torqued down, the tines on suck in. I'm guessing that because of this the fork doesn't travel as for forward into the slave cylinder. The slave cylinder is not butting up against the fork, so I'm assuming thats why the pedal goes to the floor so easy, and why there isn't enough pressure to push the pedal back. But if this is the case, should the slave cylinder automatically have enough pressure to come out into the fork? Does something else need to be done? Or does the fork always sit in the same position and never changes as the clutch disc wears down. All in all this has been extremely annoying. If anyone knows of a similar situation, or has experienced this problem, please let me know.

when you install the act clutch with alignment tool and torque the p.p to the fly wheel does the clutch disc have movement ? you should measure the thickness of the friction surface of the act clutch disc as you said in your post that the fingers on the pp suck in which is normal . are you using a six puck clutch disc ? also what torque spec are you using to torque pp to flywheel ?

Thank you for your response. I haven't had chance to give the update. I actually have the car working again. I don't completely know how. Basically I went to the closest Transmission and asked them what they thought. I told me to bring them all the clutch parts, new and old. They looked at them and basically said, put the new stuff back in, and if it doesn't work, bring it to us. So I did. There was enough pedal to shift the car, so I made my way down to the shop. While waiting to turn left into their parking lot, I pumped the pedal a few times and it popped up. A bit of adjustment to the pedal and it seems good. I've been driving it around now for a few days. I've read a few posts on various forums, and I think the problem may have to do with some sort of "sleeve" or "proportioning type valve," in the line somewhere that may have gotten stuck. Either way, I have no concrete for sure answer. I'm kind of just happy it works. :uhoh:
