I have a 1990 accord ex with 171k miles. I was thinking of just replacing the stock engine and then setting it up for a turbo. Would that be a good idea or should i get a different car? Second if i did get a turbo does anybody know of company that makes good rods and pistons to handle boost? Thanks

as far as my knowledge goes i have never heard of a b series engine fitting into any accord. F and H series are the only ones that fit.

in my opp. Eagle Rods are about the bast in their class about 400$ for a set.
ARP rod bolts all the way.

and if i read it correctly y would u bother doing a forced induction set up on a engine that has like over 100k on it??????

thanks. Promiscuous412 i might not have made it clear enough but what i meant was that i would get a new motor if i went for FI. If i didnt go FI then i would keep my engine and look for a new car.

i say dont do anything else to that car. its about 12 years old and has the mileage to prove it. if you like the accords i would say get a '95 and start from there. you can find one with relatively low mileage and good condition for pretty cheap now. swap in the h22 and a turbo and your car will be running fine.

Why would you want to swap in a B16a? For 50 bucks LESS, you can get an H22 with a buttload more horsepower AND Torque :smoka: (www.hondamotorsonline.com for pricing)

Thats a tough decision to make as far as the turbo goes. You could make a very cool sleeper  Or buy an already turbo'd car like an older Supra. Its all up to you. Do you think your car is worth doing that to? Are you gonna be happy when you're finished? Thats what you need to ask yourself.

I can't believe I am actually going to say this after all the things I have said in the past about H22's, but If you want a motor that you can do the most to for the money go with the H22... There are cheap with a lot of power to start with.... Right out of the box you can slap a turbo with about 9psi and all the bolt-ons and be very quick and you will have only scratched the surface of what you can do with that motor.... and it will fit in the car you have now if you want it to!! or any newer accord... :)
