Did you ever check to see who re-programmed your PCM? Was it DHP, Intense or did the prior owner use a PowerTuner?

The stock WOT, tranny in D shift points are set for 5800 rpms. PCMs programmed for Stage 1 mods are set to shift around 6000 rpms and that is with performance shift on.

So if you are shifting 6200-6300 it is high for a stock engine. My Intense PCM is programmed to shift at 6200 rpms and rpm cutout is 6500 but I customed programmed for 1.8 roller rockers and my other mods. Therefore you have some form of Stage 2 programming. Do you notice any valve float at those rpms?

it is a factory pcm reprogrammmed by powertuner.

no i did not notice any valve float at all, or any out of ordinary for that matter. it winds right up to 6200-6300 very quickly like it should shifts, and winds back into with no shifting problems or motor issues. im just wondering shoudl it couase any long term issues?

It probably won't hurt but I wouldn't make a habit of WOT/pedal to the metal. The SII 3800 valvetrain is fairly reliable and resilient.

BTW - But as a friendly reminder just remember what happened to your other engine. :uhoh:

Good luck.

uuummmm. You better set your shift points back to stock. You dont have a CAM with 105lb springs or 1.8 ratio rockers or higher with 90lb springs. You not producing any power past 5400 RPMs. I would fix that ASAP otherwise you car will be hurting. I have 1.8 roller rockers and I have my 1-2 shift set to 6000 RPMs and the 2-3 shift set to 5800 RPMs. Unless you buy a VS or XP Cam you DO NOT want to set those shift points set that high. If you have the Power tuner there is a way to set your RPMs back to stock. I think you go to the RPM section and right click and set all back to stock / original.
