hi everyone,

i ve had previous sucess in using web forums to solve my computer problems. i hope they are as good with the cars.

i have a 2000 toyota corolla. the horn went out suddenly one day and ive tested the horn and it works. i even got the relay tested in another car of the same make and it works fine too.

i am not sure where the problem is. i got an auto mannual for the car but it has not been of any help as the wiring diagrams for the horn circutiry do not help to get to the source of the problem

can any one suggest what can be done to get the horn working again!!!!!!!!!

i know its not a big deal with the horn but u need it to pass inspection

and besides i am one of those drivers who wants everything working in the vehical

your help is appreciated

Make an enlarged copy of the wiring diagram and high-light the wiring for the horn. Check off each component as you test it. Use a meter or test light to determine if the horn is getting power when it should. Then test the ground.
Possible problems; poor contact in the switch, bad ground, blown fuse, etc.

Hey KimMG,

thanks for your reply. i think the problem is wiht the switch. as i tested the fuse, relay, horn and found them working. i do not have an idea what the switch looks like or how to replace/ test for loose connections.

can you suggest a way to go about it.

Does the car use a scraper or a "clock spring?" If the latter, the horn is usually the first problem from a break in the wire.
