So my alternator belt snaped off and I got a new one to replace it, I figured "hey an easy fix right?" boy was I wrong, as soon as I poped the hood I knew I was in trouble, I can't figure out how to get the damned thing around the pulley, not without removing the drive belt thats in it's way, and I can't even figure out how to do that, not without cutting through the damned thing, please help, I'm confused.

Oh, sorry, this has really got me upset, I can't get it to a mechanic and even if I could I have no more $ to spend on it.
Anyway, it's a 1989 Pontiac Grand Am with a 2.5, 4 cy engine, and the alternator belt is just a normal V-belt.

Here are general instructions, you have to look at the adjustment methods for each belt to determine how to remove them. http://autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/0e/61/0f/0900823d800e610f.jsp
