1998 Neon Rad Fan not coming onevt4 09-23-2006, 10:32 AM I have a 1998 neon, Single OHC, Automatic, with the radiator fan not coming on. The check engine light came on and it read that the relay was bad, I replaced the realy and temp sensor, fan is still not working. I then replaced the computer with one from a used auto parts junkyard and the fan is still not coming on. If I power the fan directly it works. Any thoughts and help is appreciated. Thanks! das2123 09-23-2006, 11:23 PM Did you check the fuse also? evt4 09-24-2006, 07:59 PM Checked 30 amp fuse in engine compartment it's fine, are there others? If so where? Thanks for the help das2123 09-25-2006, 08:45 AM Which relay did you replace and where was it located? evt4 09-26-2006, 08:26 PM I replaced the solid state relay under the battery and the fuse I checked is in the relay compartment. Am I missing a fuse? das2123 09-26-2006, 09:36 PM You got all of them. Check the wiring now...you may have an expose wire shorting something out. evt4 09-27-2006, 07:55 AM That's going to be a long job but I will do that this weekend thanks for the help I'll post what happens. Thanks again! Kobaltic 10-04-2006, 07:31 PM I had the same problem turns out it was a bad ground wire. It is located all the way up on the drivers side corner located right above the compter. There should be 4 wires going to 2 spade connectors. One wire is your fans, one is wipers, one is AC and I forget what the other is. Hope this may help. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
