Do jerks still rule this forum?

I've popped in here a few times, expressed my opinion, and been internet-bitch-slapped because it wasn't the same opinion as some rather vocal people on this forum.

Now, words like "rice" and "slow" and "gay" and "poser" were thrown around and someone may or may not have cried.

So, have those few but loud disappeared yet? I love the 240 but sometimes just a few people ruin it for everyone else. and by everyone else, I mean me.

Pretty sure this belongs in the off topic forums :iceslolan :iceslolan
He he he, anyways, have fun with your fuming :swear: , and its not that people are assholes, they are merely stating their opinions as well, if it comes off as offensive, just shrug it off, this IS an internet forum, its not like they're pissing on your lawn..:icesangel have a nice day :icesangel

whats your opinion that has been bitch slapped? Mostly everyone is calmed down and easy. Unless, you are posting something that is really stupid...

Dustin_S

I posted that i liked the style of four smaller exhaust tips (think 3000GT VR-4)rather than one three four or twelve inch can and one guy threatened to come to my house and beat me bloody if i did that for "committing such a travesty against the 240." That's hardly an opinion.

Anyway, it's good to hear that cooler heads now prevail here.

Sorry about misplacing this post- last time I was here there was not a COT forum in the 240 area.

As for pics- www.cardomain.com/id/Dustin_S

cool looking headlights. I can see they're aerodynamic but what's more important is the loss of weight of the headlight motors right?

Dustin_S
09-23-2006, 01:00 PM
weight savings indeed. the gap underneath also allows a little more cooler air to flow into the airbox (which has yet to be built)

lol @ ur speakerbox... you could of used fiberglass filler (bondo) to smooth it out.. then it would be mint. but yea.. ive never built anything like that so props to you... headlights look a lil goofy to me... but maybe after wheels and suspension they would look alright

Those headlights are horrifying, but if you like them....wait it's still wrong, it's like a Vader body kit, no matter how you look at it, it's ugly. Anyways, I won't threaten your life.

I really need to do that repair to my hatch. I've tried Bondo with the screen underneath and it just broke out again after a week. The fiberglass looks alot better and stronger. I'm sure it could be sanded and painted afterwards. Thanks for the idea!

I'm kinda going a fusion of Japanese and American Styling here- hence the lights. You'll be happy to know that except for Scissor doors the body will stay pretty much the same (I've been drooling over a Jacquemond Radical kit for some time now)

The very first time they emailed me (over two years ago) I checked them out...I thought it looked alright, but the more I looked at it the more I wish they had left the 240 alone. To each his own though and you could do worse I suppose.

Scissor doors on the other hand I do like sometimes (yeah I know I'm a ricer :iceslolan), especially on a 240sx convertible coupe.

Anyway, I haven't been on these boards in quite some time either. Glad to see there is less flaming...hope to finally pick up a 240sx (91-93 hatchback) in less than 5 months (once winter is over so I can sell my b15).

sorry im late to the post...

but as far as the topic, i personally want to see every set of aftermarket scissors doors destroyed. but im not going to call anyone a retard for wanting to do what they want, just you know what your getting into and you know that some people wont like it and wont be that civilized about telling you this. as far as headlights, besides the silvia 2beam front end, i like these lights...

or these

but i forever hate on people who swap s14 on to s13 or vice versa, or s15 onto any 240sx, or anything where the model headlights differs from the rest of the car.

other than of course swaps between s14 kouki and s14 zenki

Those Cecilsport headlights were exactly the style I was looking for. However, after years of searching I was only able to find the current lights on Ebay. I pounced and I don't regret it.

LOL! i'm going for unique. I don't favor one or the other. She's already got a catback exhaust, Spec stage 2 clutch, AEM short Ram intake, Cusco Strut braces and stainless steel headers are on the way. I've got an entire list of upgrades planned out including Cusco (or Tien if I have the $$$) coilovers, Eibach springs, an HKS computer, and last but definitely far from least, a Garrett GT28RS Turbo (That's the disco potato, right?)

On the other hand, I'm almost done with the body.

In one single paragraph you have showed that you only know what's written in Super Street. WHy buy a header if your goign to get a turbo? Cusco is more expensive then Tein. Stance is less expensive and better then Cusco or Tein because they are based in the US (you will understand why I say this when you go to have them rebuilt or any thing else where you need to contact them) and better quality then Tein. If you get coilovers, why buy springs? What does "an HKS computer" mean? You mean a piggyback? And you need alot more then just a turbo to turbocharge a car. Maybe once you get an SR you'll be able to only add that (even then.....), but don't you have a KA? (Please god don't ask me what SR and KA mean...)

Dustin_S
09-26-2006, 12:31 AM
you're part right and part wrong. I don't read superstreet. I don't read any of those car magazines. My forte is not cars. I consult with friends (including our own AF mod J_Swigz, Suislide, and Toksin. I do have a lot of questions but the fact that I ask them to people who know alleviates...a little...of the guilt of not knowing everything. I'm making the effort, so bear with me.

HKS computer= ECU, my bad.

And I'm aware that I need more than just a turbo. I was eyeing the turbo kit in the For Sale section above but decided I'd be patient and pick up the Disco Potato and appropriate "accessories."

And yes, I have the KA. I do know that much :-P

240SXSlideStar
09-26-2006, 12:52 AM
I know that by computer you meant ECU, but that still doesn't explain why you will buy an HKS one.

Dustin_S
09-26-2006, 12:54 AM
Because that's what I use on Need for speed: Underground 2, DUH.

Kidding.

because several people I trust have recommended them. I've looked at the prices and a few others they had suggested and decided that HKS fit what I was looking for.

first of all, you know you need more than just an ECU to effectively run an aftermarket turbo car. unless its a complete standalone with a wideband, then piggybacks are a must. at least for fuel/air if you ever want to fine tune it or do additional work on it.

MetalHeadZaid
09-26-2006, 04:10 AM

I don't think I would ever want scissor doors on any car I own (I actually dislike every car that comes with them stock too), but I have seen some clean show cars with them that can look good if they aren't stuck onto a car with an outrageous body kit and 20" chrome rims.

As for front end swaps/conversions, I like s15 headlights, but hate pretty much every car that's converted with them (esp hondas!!). The only swap I would consider for my own car is an s13 hatchback with an s14 kouki or zenki front end...the only reason being that I love fastbacks/hatchbacks and they never offered the 95-98 240 with one. Though I do love the stock headlights on the s13 and probably wouldn't waste my money on a conversion when I could probably slap a diy turbo kit on for about the same money.

^^ yea, i cant picture it in my head.. but i do love the kouki front end and almost any conversion lookds good on a hatch IMO.
I love the S15 on a hatch
http://www.ka-t.org/jordan.htm
and the S13 on the coupe. again, this is just my opinion. as far as scissor doors, im not a big fan of them, its very rare i see a car that i think they "belong on". good luck with your car, keep us updated

That black car is ugly, he needs to lower that bitch stat.

4 inch front fender gap with bodykit = BIG FAIL.

4 inch front fender gap with bodykit and 1500$ conversion = FAIL so big that the font on this site wont let me do i justice.

340whp on an KA24E-T with an S15 front end and youre bitching about how it needs to be lowered? maybe he likes that stance. maybe he had it a little higher for a reason. either way, get over it. he's doing things his way and from what I can see, his way is working pretty good.

Man that sub box reminds me of my first fiberglass attempt. I cant remember what it was. Next time either get some expanding foam and carve it or use cloth over an MDF frame. Then glass it, then sand it and fill with bondo. and sand it forever until its perfect. then use spot putty and sand more.

that s13.5 is ok...i really dont like aftermarket bumpers/bodykits though. if it was stock s15 bumper it would be tighter.. i wouldnt have my shit any lower than that though, bumper would be fucked in 2 days. keep in mind slidestar, he didnt build that car for your eyes.

At least that second one is lowered, but seriously, how could the guy in the black car choose that stance? It looks like ass, and he has coilovers! Even more sad, and those wheels are brutal, Sportmax is like Rota, god i need to get rid of my Rotas....
