Its bolted to a 350 crate engine Thanks:confused: Blue Bowtie 09-21-2006, 10:41 PM jamespetress 09-22-2006, 08:33 AM No it has 7 bolts on the plate and all three gears are on the main body None on the tail. Thanks for your reply TEXAS-HOTROD 09-22-2006, 09:58 PM You munst have a T10 or a Muncie. The Saginaw that I have looks exactly like the one in B.B.'s pic. Blue Bowtie 09-23-2006, 06:47 AM Surprise! That is a T-10, but a Chevy T-10. And it's a 1964 model year Corvette version - Back in the old days, when Borg-Warner used to be the "Warner Gear Division" or General Motors. You might want to find a shifter based on that. http://72.19.213.157/files/T-10%2001.jpg jamespetress 09-23-2006, 07:45 AM Again I thank you for your reply. The transmission I have doesn't look like the ones you have showed me. The # I can see is GM 3925656. Where on your pictures one of the shifting gears is on the tail all of mine are on the inspection plate. and there are only 7 bolts as to the one you showed me has 9. Do you still think its a T 10. Again thanks for your help. Blue Bowtie 09-23-2006, 09:02 PM James, Sorry for the confusion. YOUR transmission is probably a late '60s or early '70s Saginaw. When TEXAS-HOTROD replied that HIS looked like the photo, I meant that HIS was likely a T-10. jamespetress 09-23-2006, 09:16 PM BB thanks for your reply. Trying to restore a 62 Impala SS. Working on the floor pans now and got side tracked with the transmission linkage. Again thanks Jim 68elco 09-24-2006, 12:39 AM check out this site to make sure what u got http://www.nastyz28.com/chevy-manual-transmission-identification.php Blue Bowtie 09-24-2006, 09:36 AM If you're trying to restore a 1962 Impala, you might want to hunt down a T-10, since the Saginaw trans in that range of years was only a three-speed, IIRC. If having everything match is not a concern, stick with what you have. bobss396 09-27-2006, 12:37 PM Is Mr.Gasket still in business? They used to make the ultimate 4-speed shifter for the Saginaws. On a par with the Hurst Comp Plus. If you want to keep the Saginaw even for a spare tranny, you might try to find one. Bob vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
