I gotta friend that has a 2003 Spec-V. He blew his motor once and tranny twice and maybe or has blown out 3,5 and 6. well, anyways when he had the motor swapped and its still the QR25, but he tells me its an automatic motor with the spec-v tranny....??? well, he also told me that it's a Nissan Altima motor....??? yeah, i've been in his car when it still had the stock spec-v motor and now with the altima motor, it feels alot weaker. I dont know, i just rode it in with him. Just wondering if whats the hp/tq in this altima motor. is it the same? it still does read QR25 on the engine. thanks

the 2.5S altima had a qr25, the only diff being the exhaust and possibly a slightly different ECU tune. should have the same hp. its funny that they used a base model altima engine in the spec, and also toyota used a base model camry engine in the scion TC. automakers are figuring if they dont tell people all of this, people will still buy the cars. but really, besides the relatively basic, generic suspension in the spec, the motor works well enough for some good fun.

I thought the suspension in Spec V's is supposed to stand up to the compact competition really well? I dunno, I think it handles great and everyone always talks about how it handles so well.

yeah dont get me wrong. the b15 sentra has a very rigid body and uses some quality parts, its just nothing special as far as suspension design goes. mcpherson struts in front and minivan axle in back.

What in the hell did he do to that car? I used to run the piss out of my 03 spec. I've had a tranny replaced at 50k miles due to a factory defect, but other than that I have 80k miles now and my car runs like new. Seriously... did he just drive the living hell out of that thing? My theory: maybe he killed 2 trannys while being terrible at learning how to drive a stick and in the process he sucked up one of those wicked awesome butterfly screws like i'm going to do if I don't get off my lazy ass and locktite them soon.. :P (jk)... but really, wtf?

Learning to drive a stick won't hurt your tranny, your clutch though will get shot.

A 2.5 QR25 in the Altima is the same Motor in the Spec-V , And Yes i Agree Driving Lessons do sound like they are needed
