328i oil lightatc1949 09-13-2006, 10:01 PM I have a 2000 328i and recently, the orange oil light began to come on a few seconds after starting and remains on for about 5 seconds before going off. The oil level is right up. Any ideas what might be going on here? Thanks, Tom venzon 09-15-2006, 01:23 AM It's the oil level sensor switch located at the bottom of the engine oil pan. Drain the oil before removing switch and don't forget to replace the O-ring. Good Luck, -Peter atc1949 09-17-2006, 10:39 PM Peter, Thanks, it's reassuring to know it's nothing too serious. Good Luck, -Peter if there is no O-ring there probably is a crush washer... but either way it comes with the new part at auto zone for about $8 bucks... good luck aigh vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
