altima rear brakes problemdbelski 09-13-2006, 01:03 AM Please help. Rear brakes were shot so we go the brakes and rotors off no problem Tring to push the brake cilinder back in and it will not go at all is there anything special I need to do. Hand brake cable disconected. JustSayGo 09-13-2006, 02:35 AM You have to turn the piston clock-wise until it bottoms out in the caliper. There is a screw threaded into the piston that is part of the parking brake inside of most rear calipers. dbelski 09-13-2006, 02:37 PM thank you do I need any special tools for that?? slideways... 09-13-2006, 04:34 PM you can use some hand tools, but they do sell a tool for it that is a small disc that fits on a ratchet and has 2 pins that fit in the triangle slots in the piston. JustSayGo 09-13-2006, 04:35 PM Maybe. A large screw driver usually works. Some of the special universal tools do not work as well.
