What is the recommended American fluid to put in a 1992 Nissan Sentra?

I have the 1.6L engine auto transmission

-edit- fixed...changed to sentra from stanza

stanza came with a 1.6L? well not like it matters, but im assuming you mean sentra. oh and does it have a standard or automatic transmission?
automatic uses either dexron III/mercon V or OEM nissan auto trans fluid.
manual uses a heavy engine oil (like 75w90 lube). you can use any engine oil but it will help smoother shifting if you use the right stuff. but i used 10w30 in my 240sx and it did just fine thru many hard shifts, burnouts, donuts, drifts, races, ect. ect. and its still shifting fine and its on its 2nd owner after me. but its more likely that the 240sx transmission is stronger than the sentra's. so id use heavier oil.

For a manual I use Redline 75-90 and it is the best tranny fluid I have ever had. Seems like the whole thing works and sounds better.
