Eldorado 98 intermitting start problemeldorado98 09-11-2006, 01:34 PM I am having a problem with my 98 Eldorado, Northstar, 88,000 miles. When I start the car in the morning, it starts easy. If I restart it within 20 mins it starts easy. If I try restarting it after 1/2 hour, even after 3 hours it cranks and cranks and finally starts. What could be the problem? MasterMind1 11-24-2006, 11:05 PM after running it for awhile, pull the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator, check for fuel coming out of the regulator through the vacuum conection port rzacc 01-09-2011, 11:36 PM Greetings. I am wondering what the outcome was to this problem. My mother bought one and it is doing the same thing. However, her car will start if she turns the key off, then restarts. When it is warm, it will often not start on the first try, but just crank. It almost invariable starts on the second try. Thanks in advance. caddydaddy 01-10-2011, 09:21 AM When it is warm, it will often not start on the first try, but just crank. It almost invariable starts on the second try. Thanks in advance. I'd have the engine codes checked. It sounds to me like the crankshaft position sensors may be bad. It's a fairly common starting problem. But you need to have the codes checked to confirm.
