Hello,

I am looking for some advice on an issue I am having.

I have a 98 Rodeo and recently replaced the starter. The old starter was definitely bad and when I replaced it I was able to start the vehicle. After doing some errands, the vehicle will no longer start and it isn't doing anything....no clicking....etc. Would could possibly be the issue? loose connections...?

I yes I would start with loose connections and check the ground to the battery and the battery connections.

You could also have a bad new starter too.

Could also be an issue of the starter binding. I had that problem with mine and had to reinstall it several times before I got the right position. While you are checking the connections, take the starter loose (back off the bolts about half way) then try it and see if the starter turns.

I have gotten bad starters out of the box from all the major parts stores. Most checked good on the test bench at the store but a brand new 650 CCA battery wouldnt turn them over with it not even intsalled in the vehicle.
