View Full Version : Toon layout New Mustangs Toon layout New Mustangs Blip 09-06-2006, 03:47 PM First layout has 06/07 ones for sale at "Special Ed's" car lot. Still need to finish the detailing, add the wheels/tires, some "For Sale" signs on the windows and a toon drawing of Mr. "Special Ed." The models are the an orange Shelby GT500 (probably going to re-draw this one), a black Shelby GT-Hertz, a blue GT/CS, and a white Shelby GT. http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/poster04.jpg Mshkttck 09-06-2006, 03:57 PM Sweet! You don't see many drawings done at those angles. Blip 09-07-2006, 12:37 PM Thanks, the big challenge was finding ref pictures for these viewing angles. Finished the Shelby GT.... http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/07ShelbyGT-WhiteFinal.jpg 1986 09-07-2006, 02:37 PM man, how many mustang versions are there? great drawings! not much else to say. Joey Blip 09-08-2006, 09:15 AM man, how many mustang versions are there? great drawings! not much else to say. Joey Thanks! For 06/07, there are the four major special edditions of the Mustang, (GT500, Shelby GT-Hertz, Shelby GT and the GT/CS) besides the base GT and V6 models. Finished the GT-Hertz, (this is a rental car only this year, but should start hitting the used car market next summer). http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/06GTHfinal.jpg sketches_of_b 09-08-2006, 11:04 AM Those Hertz Mustangs were the coolest rentals in '66! That's nice they're bringing em back this year! If you wanted a Hertz clone, you could just lay down some gold stripes over black. It'll be interesting to see the pricest the real ones bring when Hertz starts selling them. Nice work on the Stangs! I like the little window stickers! I'm sure if I zoomed in close enough they would read: As is, no warranty expressed or implied. Or: Free hat with purchase of car! Depends what kind of guy Ed is... B Blip 09-08-2006, 11:29 AM Thanks, I did have a little fun with the window stickers. Just wait until you get to meet Ed. I do like the look of the black and gold Herts cars, old and new. The first one was auctioned off this summer for $250,000!:disappoin I think when they showing up next summer, as used cars, dealers will be charging "stupid" money for them just like the new GT 500. http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/GTHertz15.jpg Here's the current update of the poster. http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/poster05.jpg Blip 09-10-2006, 03:06 PM Finished the layout. http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/SpecialEd2007.jpg stuffbyalex 09-10-2006, 08:37 PM Great toon Blip! I love the angles you chose. The salesman's mustache reminded me right away of Ben Stiller's character in Dodgeball. Did you do this for a dealership or just for fun? Alex Blip 09-11-2006, 09:02 AM Thanks Alex. This one is just for fun. It will be the first in a series of "Special Ed" layouts. Planned on using just Mustangs, but I may expand the idea to include other makes/models. "Ed" is a completely made up caricature, but I do see what you mean about him looking like a Dodgeball character. I do need to put in some more practice time on drawing cartoon guys. Currently working on a profile sheel for "Ed." Blip 09-11-2006, 07:29 PM Here's another "Special Ed" toon where he has just got caught doing some "unauthorizied tagging" at a car show. http://home.comcast.net/~cdrr3112/06carshow03.jpg DylanTrott 09-11-2006, 08:42 PM Those are awesome!!! I want an Ed comic book!!! GREAT JOB! Dylan. Blip 09-13-2006, 03:52 AM Thanks, maybe someday "Ed" will get his own comic. Working on the next scene which involves donuts and...
