First of all, I had wire from the steering column start to short out. I pulled the signal light fuse. Isolated the wire, and retaped it. (thought the wire was pinched, and touching metal) Worked for a while.
Later, it was shorting out again, and melted all the wire tubing, right down to the metal. The Air bag light came on. The wire is no longer connected.

Everything is working...well was working (air bag...I am hoping is still working)

Now though, the airbag light is on all the time. And now I DO NOT have a working blower fan inside. I was cooking with no A/C this year.

This is what happens. I start the car, or have the inginition on in any 'on' position...and the fan does not work.(airbag light is on as well) (Wire was shorted right out, and melted to nothing)

If I turn the ignition off, the fan works, full throttle.

Car is on, no fan.
Car is off, fan.
Airbag light is on.
Fried wire in the stearing column.

All happened together, in a short period of time.

HELPPPP

I will also be posting more hurthing experiences about my car...I am just getting started.

Sorry to hear your misfortune. Insure it and let it burn. J/K? :naughty: Good luck can't offer any advice as I have an 05 and no troubles yet (fingers crossed.)

$140 of tests later. The dealer says it is the ignition switch ($50) They wanted $150 to replace it, and fix the fried wire...so I said I will get a friend to do it. I hope it works...as winter is coming.

Make sure you pull the airbag fuse before replacing the wire and switch. When replaced take it to an independent body shop and get the air bag system checked and reset. They cost big money if they blow.
