Has any one replace the O ring gaskets on the water tube from which runs from the water pump to the thermostat housing on a 1.6 engine.

The car is a 91 honda civic what a 1.6 engine.

I am seeing coolant leaking from the back side of the thero housing where the solid water tube slides in.

What do you have to do to replace those gaskets?

take the neck off, replace the gasket, put the neck back on. theres 1 gasket, and i believe on hondas it slips around the outside of the thermostat. this may mean your Tstat is bad, but if your not overheating then you could probably get away with leaving the old one in. its something id replace if i was already in there though

Slideways thanks for the reply, but I was talking about the o-ring from the water tube, which runs from the water pump to the thermo housing. I finally just pulled the intake off and removed the oil breather and I could then remove the thermo housing and the water pump tube. I replaced the O-rings on the tube and it seems to be holding fine now.

Thanks again.
