I would love to put a built rotary engine and tranny in my B2200 and just need to know what all that im looking at to do this. The rotary engine and tranny are built for street racing. i just want my truck to scoot more down the straight a ways.. plus the rotary has a higher redline than the 2.2. Also if i do this swap out.. My 2.2 has the webber Carb on it.. Can i adapt it to fit the Rotary? its already set up for carb. the old carb that came off of it was a Holley 650 Double Pumper. It was bigger than the motor.. lol Someone let me know something soon

That thing will probably choke to death with a weber 32/36 on it.

What you can do for the tranny is take the truck tail housing and bolt it onto the RX-7 tranny, then the tranny should bolt in like stock.

Engine wise you would have to fab mounts, since it is carbureted you wouldn't have to worry about all the electical stuff, just fuel line, throttle linkage, etc....

Aren't the rotary engines notorious for the lack of torque? I believe I read the make good horsepower, but very little torque.

Stock carb on the old rotary was a Hitachi 4 barrel that flowed about 550 cfm as I recall. As K6 said the 32/36 Webber will not flow enough fuel/air to run the rotary.U would be better off rebuilding the Holley double pumper and leaving it on there. There is a thread on mazdabscene.com with a gorgeous B2200 with a gen 11 rotary in it. Go to that site ,look up the truck and u will get some tips. BJ
