Hello all,
'03 Accord EX owner here with 78k miles and just recently the LCD screen for the radio and all the controls went blank. Should this happen on a 3 year old car that has been well taken care of??
As an owner of 3 Accords in a row can anyone give me an idea where I now stand without visibility of the radio and all the included controls that share the same LCD screen?
I would also like the name of the Honda North Rep for the Boston, Massachusetts Area if that Info is out there. I looked on the Honda site and of course that information has been strategically located deep within the site.
Thanks in advance to those who respond.

Dizamn! 78K on a 3yr old car? You do some serious drivin. Since I assume yu listen to the stereo whenever in the car, then I'm not suprised. The LCD screen is backlit by a bulb like all the other controls. They're tiny lil bulbs that go out after too long. No need to panic, the bulb is very replaceable. Your dealer can do it, but they'll charge you an arm and a leg to take out the panel, crack it open, and switch the bulb(s). If you know anybody adept at interior mods, you might wanna see if they can do it for you. The bulbs by themself cost between $2 and $12 from the dealer. But the installation will no doubt be at least $50 and I think thats being conservative.
Good luck

That happened to me too! I have the 2003 Accord EX V6 and mine went out at 41,200 miles! I couldn't believe it. Also, the bulbs for the heated seats went out on me and after that, the bulbs for the power windows that the driver controls went on me at about shortly after that. Finally, the bulbs for the shifter indicator in front of the cup holders went out at 53,300 and I had to go back to my dealer a fourth time! I think I got my car on either a Monday or a Wednesday!

Press and hold the CD button for five seconds till you hear a beep.
It has a stealth feature that allows the display to go totally blank.
Funny thing is that most dealers don't even know that:lol:

Unfortunately there is no secret code to turning it back on. If you press and hold the CD button it will beep, but that's all. It won't turn the display back on. Your car has a defective audio unit that needs to be replaced. There is no bulb that's burnt out. Do you have an extended warranty? If so, that's a covered replacement.
