I have a 93 Taurus wagon & recently had the transmission replaced.
Leaving the repair shop, I made a left turn & noticed that the turn signal was flashing faster than usual. This stopped before I reached my home, 5 miles away. For 2-3 days..no problems. Then, the turn signals stopped working, the rear window defroster stopped working & fuse #5 blows as soon as I tun the ignition switch. The next day, my headlights stopped working. The highbeams work if I pull back on the lever as if to "flash" them, but even the highbeams won't work when the light switch is on & they are switched to the highbeam position. I've disconnected the taillights, the rear defroster & the multifuntion switch (turn signal/wipers/hazard) & the fuse continues to blow.

I've read something about the transaxle gear position switch possibly causing some problems, but I haven't had the chance to check it out & I'm not sure what to do other than disconnect it & see if the fuse blows when I start the car.

HELP!

Thanks,
Don

Take it back. Some wiring may have been pinched when the tranny was replaced.

I agree with KimMG. I've seen before where wires get pinched during tranny replacements causing various electrical issues.
