Tutorials available here....I did a video tute for her that's part of CD#2 http://www.motorsportsillustrated.com Her stuff like most of my stuff is mainly for screenprinting and chances are at some point you've come across her work. In any case she's a fantastic person and I just wanted to share some of what she's been going through. As a wanna be artists I can't imagine losing my sight. It's even harder to imagine it happening to someone at her level. So if you're the praying kind, put in a good word for her. If you're not, just think a good thought. -Lemorris ************************************************ Here's her latest post on her situation: Update on operation Went under the knife at 12 noon on Tuesday (August 29th) First operation was for cataracts. Only 15 minutes and it was done. Second operation (different doctor) was to install the $18,000 steroid implant. Turns out the I have the honor of being the first in AZ to get one of these devices. all of the doctors in the building came in to watch. The device is less than an 8th inch in size and had to be sewn inside the back of the eye. This took the most time (about an hour). Then it was time for the third phase of the operation, to drain the existing fluids and replace them with a temporary filling of saline water. 24 stitches later and I was done. the put a patch on and sent me home with a followup appt set for the next day (today) Last night I was in a great deal of pain and after finally getting some sleep, I had a terrible dream that my eye (that was just filled with water) had sprung a leak and deflated! woke up still in pain and went to back to the eye hospital for my follow up. I doc took off the patch and opened my eye to find.... that my eye had sprung a leak and deflated!!!! He said he is not going to refill it at this time as the eye should slowly refill itself after the stitches desolve. I just need to keep the patch on to avoid infection (an to avoid grossing out family members) and come in his office every 2 days to recheck the progress. All in all I still have hope for a good outcome with a longer recovery than expected. The pain meds are doing there job now and I can still see enough to write this post with my right eye. I have to get back to the recliner now (I have also been sentenced to a 45 degree angle position for 50 minutes of every hour). I will check in again in a day or so. Thanks for all of the good thoughts! They are working 1986 09-01-2006, 04:14 PM I'm not the praying type, but hey, if it helps ... Joey Mshkttck 09-01-2006, 04:38 PM Wow, that sucks. Blip 09-01-2006, 06:33 PM I am the praying type, and Jeri has made a big impression (and hopefully improvement) on my drawing skill. (I have both tutorials.) Hope she has a fast, and full recovery. G-man422 09-01-2006, 06:35 PM I'll be praying. Get well soon. Roboduck 09-01-2006, 07:55 PM I will also be praying for her. She has been an inspiration to me and, like so many others, I have her tutorials and can only hope that they are an influence in my future works. She is caring, thoughtful and talented... moe importantly, she chose to share her experience and insight with all of us. Best wishes and a speedy recovery, Jeri. Roboduck (DrakeR) asaenz 09-05-2006, 01:12 PM Thx for the update Lemorris. I started visiting her site when I realized she had been updating her situation. I haven't been very strong in my walk w/ the Lord but I will/do pray for her. She is a very giving person, always trying to help folks out with art. I pray she heals fast. Al PS: I will be honest God just doesn't make sense to me right now, but I am hanging in there. I pray that my heart and my attitude towords God will change. lemorris 09-05-2006, 02:05 PM Don't sweat it Al. I'm 40 and I can't name 3 things that make sense to me. Just draw.
