Was cleaning my 96 LT yesterday and when I removed the rear floor mat on the driver's side I found some typr of "goo" that seems to have ruined my carpet. Has to be something that has happened since last weekend and I carry nothing on my rear floorboard. Anyone ever had this problem? Seems to be coming from around the bolts where the seat mounts.

GM uses that black gooey stuff to seal up the cracks and holes. Has it been real hot temp wise where you live that could got it soft and running.

Isn't that where the cat is?

Might want to keep an eye on it, it might be plugging up a bit and overheating.
