Tire Fit Question

I know this question has been asked about 1000 times, but this ones a little different than most.

Vehicle: 2002 4dr, 4WD Blazer, Torsions cranked 3/4" mabey closer to 7/8"

I know a 30X9.5 All Terrain will fit my vehicle without rubbing

What I want to know is will a Mud-Terrain tire fit without rubbing? I know the tread is bigger on these tires so I thought I should ask before I ran off to get them installed.

Also, am I crazy to do this? I want it to look great and get good mud traction as I often get calls to pull out friends and I do enjoy muddin myself every few weekends too. Is this just too aggressive of a tire for a blazer? I know my gas milage will drop and my ride quality wont be quite as good but I want to have the ability to go all out if I want to and still keep a mostly stock ride height. Plus I rarely venture onto highways and when I do its not very far, so ride quality isnt a huge factor. Ive just wondered if the tread pattern is just too much for the drivetrain to handle when it comes to digging into mud or sand.

I decided to go through with it. Guy at the tire shop said I had plenty room and he was right on the money. Got 30X9.5 Bridgestone Dueler M/Ts installed and they fit perfectly, no rubbing at all. I went to test em after the hurricane and they(and the blazer) really performed well in the thick mud. Road noise is minimal and ride quality just might be an improvement over my cheap Cooper El Dorados, which were on when I bought it. Here are some pics if your are thinking of doing the same thing:

looks good. you may want to consider reprograming the speedo/odometer to compinsate for those bigger tires.
