I turned off my 1998 ford taurus this morning and got back in it and the ac panel does not work. :banghead: There are no lights but the radio still works. The defroster blasts hot air. Any ideas what would cause this?

Also this morning when I went out I noticed that the fuel guage was not working either.

Does your Taurus have the Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) or the manual HVAC system with 3 knobs?

It has the electronic automatic temperature control.

Check your fuses. I don't have the service manual handy to direct you to particular fuses. If you'd like the wiring diagrams for the EATC I can e-mail them as a PDF to you. Just send me a Private Message with an e-mail address for you that can accept attachments and I'll get them sent your way this evening if you'd like.

This sounds familar as well, you may want to search this forum for "EATC" or "climate control," etc. There may be some solutions already posted.
