looking to get a 1990 honda accord and have ?jason-1995fbody 08-28-2006, 02:22 PM looked at a 90 honda accord with 120000 miles on it very little rust arouund the rear quarters and super clean inside also has power every thing for only 1500 now my question is other than the basics what should i watch for mpumas 08-28-2006, 03:01 PM Did the timing belt, water pump and other belts get changed at 90K? Does the A/C and associated fan work? Any rust in the trunk / area around the tail lights leak water? Oil leaks around transmission, oil pan, timing belt cover, valve cover gaskets? Good engine compression? Transmission fluid not black, smell burnt? Igovert500 08-28-2006, 07:04 PM Burning oil from bad piston rings or valve seals. Any smoke for that matter. Make sure you don't have a flashing D4 or 'S' light associated with bad TCU or bad speed sensor (make sure cruise works). Motor mounts usually become an issue in the long run. Check for water damage in the trunk, as the tail light seals wear away/get loose and leak. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. jason-1995fbody 08-29-2006, 04:34 PM havent driven the car yet but thanks for the info chubbygoatboy 08-31-2006, 09:46 AM If you don't buy it, please let me know where it is at!! kustom_Ace 09-01-2006, 08:09 PM You mentioned it has power everything. Make sure all of it works thoroughly b4 buying it. From personal experience, any electrical problems in a car can be a real pain in the a** to fix. I just dont want anyone else going through what I did. Cheers vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
