Both of these are acids and have the ablility to break up the minerial deposits in the hard water. Hard water is a pain! I wake up to them every morning because of my sprinklers. Just make sure you clean them often or they tend to set in, which is what sounds like happened to you. silicon212 08-23-2006, 11:06 AM White vinegar, full strength.
