when i'm braking do i keep my foot on the clutch?

As you are coming to a stop you can downshift, engine braking means less wear on the brakes themselves. When you come to a complete stop your foot better be on the clutch and it better be on the floor or you will get that familiar jerking motion as you stall the car :rofl:. I've done it a few times, did it with the new truck a couple of weeks after I got it, finally heard the end of that one.

I like the LS1 a lot. It just has a lot of the same little annoyances that the Camaro had. I'm just looking for something different. I really want an m6 too.

A GTO is definately something different. Mske sure you get the LS2 though.

Anyone got a write up on putting a bigblock into a 3rd gen??

Reason I'm asking is that we've got a 454 w/ a turbo 400 sitting in a truck doing nothing and a friend that has a 3rd gen that has had packrats get into it so the wiring is trashed. I've been thinking of trying to shove that monster in it for shits and giggles and try to see what I can do.

It's possible, but I do believe there is some cutting of the inner fenders involved, and forget about changing the plugs with the motor in the car. Also, a hood scoop is needed as the carb(s) definately won't clear the top of the hood, crossmember needs to be changed and the front suspension needs some serious work to hold the extra weight. Plus custom headers to clear the front suspension. Good luck with it, its hard work but makes for a fun car when its done.

Definately a lot of work, but its do-able. You'll have a rare combo though.

Hmmm, this wouldn't be a pretty car thats for sure. The body isn't in the best of shape, turd brown and some rust (81 Z28) and it would be a redneck go fast in a straight line car. Although if it gets pulled off I think it could be real fun.

i won't be in Orlando much, i'll be off near Orange City. it's more a trip to salvage my relationship than to have fun.

oh well, 11 days until i leave. i'll have to leave the house at something like 5am to get to the airport in time. i live in north-west London and have to go all through central London, accross the river and out of south london, then about 50 miles of motorway before i reach the airport. i might be taking a train instead.

i've done enough travelling that i'm used to crap flights, no legroom, screaming children and people you want to punch.

A friend I went to HS with just got a Paxton S/C bolted on his 03 Mustang GT, new injectors and fuel pump (although the new one maxed out a 5k rpms so hes got to upgrade again) he just put down 387hp and 397tq to the wheels. The guy who tuned it said once the fuel pump gets fixed it should be up to around 430hp.

Hes got the 5psd, short throw, 4.10's, Nitto DR's, Exhaust, and the Supercharger.

Can't wait to ride in it/drive it. :):)

i've been in a modified GT500. can't wait until i can drive it. it's got a 460ci big-block and an eaton blower now. when i went in it before it had the stock engine and a few minor mods.

Well, some of its not too bad. I guess some of it is just inconvenience. But I did write my entire research paper last night, so that helped get something off the list of things to do. But I'm in a computerized accounting class and we work with specific software and I have to use the computers at school to do it, and I work the rest of the week and both assignments are due next week. I just don't know when I will find time to get them done. I'm almost done with one but I'm off by a few thousand dollars, so I have to find that mistake, then I haven't even started my other one yet. I think I might skip both.

I've seen colored shapes before after seeing BRIGHT lights and stuff. I think those mean that you did some damage to the eye. Not a good thing.

Hahaha. I was bored and went back through some of the old posts in this banter thread, and let me tell ya', when everyone is around and kickin', we're some funny idiots. I started clicking some random pages and hit a week or so before X-mas and read through New Years, around page ~240 or so. Good stuff.

It's started giving itself fuel, like doing 40+ mph without touching the gas, battery or altenator, an electrical issue where lights on the dash come on when I touch the brakes, trip and radio resets every time I turn the car off.....Stuff like that.
