okay, so it's pretty rough and you might leave the pitch half-blind or on a stretcher, but i loved playing it!

Actually, I got hit in the eye playing lacross in gym class in high school. We were just playing with plastic sticks and a tennis ball and a guy took a shot and I jumped to block it but didn't turn my head fast enough and got hit square in the eye. It swelled up pretty good in the first 10 seconds, but I put ice on it for the rest of the day and looked almost normal the next day.

i was watching hurling once and saw a guy get too close to a player making a swing, his face bore the brunt of that swing. didn't look pretty.

Anybody have any good ideas of yanking off a muffler that is rusted to the pipe? I had the idea of just changing the muffler on my flowmaster catback to a new muffler so I could keep the other pipes and save myself some change. I took (broke, actually) off the clamp and one of the hangers, but noticed that the I-pipe is rusted to the muffler. Any suggestions on breaking the thing loose without cutting? Not a big deal or anything, just next spring I may just buy a whole new catback for the sound that I want.

penetrating oil and a pipe wrench should do the trick. did last time i tired.

Not a whole lot of room to really hit it with enough force though. But I did spray it with penetrating oil, but didn't do much. May just settle for a catback later.

It's time to become a man. Heat works. By heat I mean a torch. You don't want to cut the pipe, just heat it up by 600 degrees or so. Once you get it nice and hot, twist it. It should come right off. Just be careful where you aim the torch, burning carpet doesn't smell all that great.

At least someone has a good idea. I was looking at some pics in my GMHTP mag and I decided that I'm going to paint the scoop silver and the rest of the hood black. I think it will look badass.

I know its called the 'Stalker Hood' or something. Ehh...the only difference in that one and the other one was that center insert. But I guess I would rather have it than not. Maybe I'll look again.

In the 2005 catalog it's listed at part number 'H300'. "Big-Block Stinger Hood - $411.00 each.

That's the link I was looking it, that's who supplied them to Year One. It doesn't come with the center insert though.

ah ok. i think summit has them too but idk how much. you could easily make an insert though.

That's where I've been looking at it too. That's the only website I can find with that hood for sale. Looks like I'll be buying it from them next spring. But thanks for looking guys, I appreciate it. Like I said, it will be black with a silver scoop. I'll have pics when I get it.

Edit - Just looked at Summit, they didn't have the hood.

summit used to have them i guess they just stopped carrying them. there is a guy a work with that has that hood on his 96 RS. its green with black center section. they look pretty good.

There are 2 on lt1's around here, ebay only has one for an 82-92 too.

yeah, with a car like that i think its stupid to not have a cage, no offense to you, but why spend the money to make it fast, but not make it safe, cages arnt that much, and you dont have to radically modify the car, my camaro is getting a cage with a 400HP 355 its just a smart thing to have when drag racing

I have a friend who put one in his 01 ss, interior now looks like crap. Sure, there is plenty of room in the front, but to get in and out you have to worm your way around a big ugly bar. Granted, that bar may save his life someday, but once you open the door to that car there is no appeal to it. All the plastic trim is cut apart to accomodate the cage, and you can't even fit a 2 year old in the back seat. It's ugly. Just my :2cents:

It sees mostly street duty. I have fun racing at the track, but I didn't build it to get the absolute best times.
Plus....a cage in a street car is not a good idea. Accidents happen where you aren't wearing a helmet (on the street) and you crack your melon on the cage....

You should bring that car over to my streets, I'll show you what's up...after I steal your wheels.
