Mr. Luos 09-24-2006, 07:42 PM Fronts got the old rears...2.5" studs. Rears got the new ARP 3.25" studs. 2.2 Straight six 09-24-2006, 07:47 PM i've been watching hurling videos, i need to get back into that sport. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurling videos at the bottom. fast paced and brutal. Hurling has the highest rate of players getting blinded of any sport. poormillionaire2 09-24-2006, 08:47 PM i've been watching hurling videos, i need to get back into that sport. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hurling videos at the bottom. fast paced and brutal. Hurling has the highest rate of players getting blinded of any sport. That's exactly what I want to do, play a sport and become blind. Great idea! ZL1power69 09-24-2006, 08:59 PM That's exactly what I want to do, play a sport and become blind. Great idea! seen that happen with lacross. not pretty 2.2 Straight six 09-24-2006, 09:11 PM That's exactly what I want to do, play a sport and become blind. Great idea! it's actually an awesome game. okay, so it's pretty rough and you might leave the pitch half-blind or on a stretcher, but i loved playing it! poormillionaire2 09-24-2006, 09:25 PM Actually, I got hit in the eye playing lacross in gym class in high school. We were just playing with plastic sticks and a tennis ball and a guy took a shot and I jumped to block it but didn't turn my head fast enough and got hit square in the eye. It swelled up pretty good in the first 10 seconds, but I put ice on it for the rest of the day and looked almost normal the next day. 2.2 Straight six 09-24-2006, 09:37 PM i was watching hurling once and saw a guy get too close to a player making a swing, his face bore the brunt of that swing. didn't look pretty. poormillionaire2 09-24-2006, 09:47 PM Anybody have any good ideas of yanking off a muffler that is rusted to the pipe? I had the idea of just changing the muffler on my flowmaster catback to a new muffler so I could keep the other pipes and save myself some change. I took (broke, actually) off the clamp and one of the hangers, but noticed that the I-pipe is rusted to the muffler. Any suggestions on breaking the thing loose without cutting? Not a big deal or anything, just next spring I may just buy a whole new catback for the sound that I want. 2.2 Straight six 09-24-2006, 09:50 PM penetrating oil and a pipe wrench should do the trick. did last time i tired. FTheMan 09-24-2006, 11:26 PM Just flat out punch it, open fist style. 1986Z28 09-25-2006, 09:19 AM a nice roundhouse kick will do it! poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 10:22 AM Not a whole lot of room to really hit it with enough force though. But I did spray it with penetrating oil, but didn't do much. May just settle for a catback later. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 03:38 PM Get a catback and that big block hood 2.2 Straight six 09-25-2006, 03:49 PM Try harder. skibum1111 09-25-2006, 05:45 PM It's time to become a man. Heat works. By heat I mean a torch. You don't want to cut the pipe, just heat it up by 600 degrees or so. Once you get it nice and hot, twist it. It should come right off. Just be careful where you aim the torch, burning carpet doesn't smell all that great. Mr. Luos 09-25-2006, 07:34 PM Nice!! Looks like the weather is going to hold out for me to race Wednesday afternoon. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 07:57 PM Hopefully some better times? The cooler weather should help some. Mr. Luos 09-25-2006, 08:00 PM Better rear tires as well. Car will be lighter as well running the ProStars. Mr. Luos 09-25-2006, 08:00 PM Looking for 11.99 at 117. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 08:55 PM Get a catback and that big block hood At least someone has a good idea. I was looking at some pics in my GMHTP mag and I decided that I'm going to paint the scoop silver and the rest of the hood black. I think it will look badass. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 08:56 PM Looking for 11.99 at 117. Someone is very specific...and doesn't want to get kicked out for not having proper safety equipment. :nono: Mr. Luos 09-25-2006, 08:59 PM I won't be going 11.49 or better, so I am good. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 09:03 PM I won't be going 11.49 or better, so I am good. Oh, think positive now, even if you are 5,000 ft above sea-level. Mr. Luos 09-25-2006, 09:05 PM  There is no way. I would have to get a 1.2xx short time....which simply isn't going to happen. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 09:09 PM  There is no way. I would have to get a 1.2xx short time....which simply isn't going to happen. Nothin a little shot of juice won't solve. :icon16: Mr. Luos 09-25-2006, 09:17 PM No bottle. Don't need it. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 09:18 PM Year One has the big block hood for lt1's...I think they want $411 for it. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 09:22 PM Year One has the big block hood for lt1's...I think they want $411 for it. I looked for it on Year One, but I couldn't find it. I know its called the 'Stalker Hood' or something. Ehh...the only difference in that one and the other one was that center insert. But I guess I would rather have it than not. Maybe I'll look again. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 09:25 PM I'll find my catalog and find the part number. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 09:27 PM In the 2005 catalog it's listed at part number 'H300'. "Big-Block Stinger Hood - $411.00 each. EDIT: I've looked, I don't see it online either :/ ZL1power69 09-25-2006, 09:35 PM found it here for $409; http://www.americansportscardesigns.com/4gen_camaro.shtml 666_speed 09-25-2006, 09:39 PM Found it without the insert for $409 + shipping. :/ I don't see it anywhere with the insert. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 09:40 PM found it here for $409; http://www.americansportscardesigns.com/4gen_camaro.shtml That's the link I was looking it, that's who supplied them to Year One. It doesn't come with the center insert though. ZL1power69 09-25-2006, 09:52 PM ah ok. i think summit has them too but idk how much. you could easily make an insert though. 97cavalier 09-25-2006, 10:03 PM so whats this i here that GM and Ford may join?? i HATE ford. They better not join. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 10:09 PM found it here for $409; http://www.americansportscardesigns.com/4gen_camaro.shtml That's where I've been looking at it too. That's the only website I can find with that hood for sale. Looks like I'll be buying it from them next spring. But thanks for looking guys, I appreciate it. Like I said, it will be black with a silver scoop. I'll have pics when I get it. Edit - Just looked at Summit, they didn't have the hood. ZL1power69 09-25-2006, 10:23 PM summit used to have them i guess they just stopped carrying them. there is a guy a work with that has that hood on his 96 RS. its green with black center section. they look pretty good. 666_speed 09-25-2006, 10:25 PM There are 2 on lt1's around here, ebay only has one for an 82-92 too. poormillionaire2 09-25-2006, 10:28 PM The price isn't too bad but I just don't look forward to paying for paint and labor. ZL1power69 09-25-2006, 10:31 PM The price isn't too bad but I just don't look forward to paying for paint and labor. not to mention shipping. i priced a hood for my truck off ebay and they want like 80 to ship it. poormillionaire2 09-26-2006, 08:29 AM not to mention shipping. i priced a hood for my truck off ebay and they want like 80 to ship it. Oh yeah, I forgot about shipping. Shipping freight costs more doesn't it? That's the only way they'll ship it I think. I have so much more shit I have to buy for this car, and most of it isn't the go-fast parts anymore. I'm done with those. Now just time to fix her up. 1986Z28 09-26-2006, 09:19 AM I won't be going 11.49 or better, so I am good. i think you need a cage Mr. Luos 09-26-2006, 05:24 PM I can go 11.49 easy at sea level. Not here though. FTheMan 09-26-2006, 09:54 PM Hurry up and do it. ZL1power69 09-26-2006, 09:59 PM at the rate ur going ur gonna need it sooner or later Mr. Luos 09-26-2006, 10:13 PM My car will NEVER get a cage. poormillionaire2 09-27-2006, 09:41 AM My car will NEVER get a cage. Better chop off a few cylinders then... 1986Z28 09-27-2006, 10:18 AM yeah, with a car like that i think its stupid to not have a cage, no offense to you, but why spend the money to make it fast, but not make it safe, cages arnt that much, and you dont have to radically modify the car, my camaro is getting a cage with a 400HP 355 its just a smart thing to have when drag racing goldz28 09-27-2006, 10:24 AM My car will NEVER get a cage. The state police have nice cages that leave you room in the front just not the back... poormillionaire2 09-27-2006, 01:00 PM I think street cars with cages are sweet. And if you get one, you don't have to worry about running it too fast at the track. skibum1111 09-27-2006, 05:06 PM He has his reasons for not wanting a cage. I wouldn't want one either, why mess up the inside of the car if you are not going to use it to its full potential? I have a friend who put one in his 01 ss, interior now looks like crap. Sure, there is plenty of room in the front, but to get in and out you have to worm your way around a big ugly bar. Granted, that bar may save his life someday, but once you open the door to that car there is no appeal to it. All the plastic trim is cut apart to accomodate the cage, and you can't even fit a 2 year old in the back seat. It's ugly. Just my :2cents: FormulaLT1 09-27-2006, 05:16 PM He has his reasons for not wanting a cage. Just my :2cents: :15millionsign: , I would rather have a 13 second car with a comfortable, nice interior than a 10 second with friggin monkey bars inside that get in the way of everything and make it look appearance wise closer to a grade school childs playground than the cockpit of a modern performance car. skibum1111 09-27-2006, 05:18 PM I couldn't have put it better. poormillionaire2 09-27-2006, 08:48 PM I just wish I had a car fast enough to be worthy of a cage. But I would never get on either. balls_to_the_wall 09-27-2006, 09:00 PM IMHO its a street monster, not a track queen. It dosen't need a cage. goldz28 09-27-2006, 09:12 PM :15millionsign: , I would rather have a 13 second car with a comfortable, nice interior than a 10 second with friggin monkey bars inside that get in the way of everything and make it look appearance wise closer to a grade school childs playground than the cockpit of a modern performance car. Well put, I would never want a cage. Mr. Luos 09-27-2006, 09:35 PM As mentioned.... It sees mostly street duty. I have fun racing at the track, but I didn't build it to get the absolute best times. Plus....a cage in a street car is not a good idea. Accidents happen where you aren't wearing a helmet (on the street) and you crack your melon on the cage.... poormillionaire2 09-27-2006, 10:07 PM You should bring that car over to my streets, I'll show you what's up...after I steal your wheels. 97cavalier 09-27-2006, 10:30 PM screw the wheels, i will take the motor! 97cavalier 09-27-2006, 11:32 PM well i was watching some videos on the internet and i notice that Mr.Luos you happen to be in one. http://videos.streetfire.net/category/Pontiac/8/ca3349c1-38a5-4f19-84a8-9817003c21cb.htm Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
