95 Geo metrobaseball_playa1575 08-21-2006, 08:48 PM I have a 95 geo metro. The engine is very loud and idles around 1100rpm's. It sounds kinda like a riding lawn mower and I have no clue why it does this. The check engine light is on but I dont know how to check this? I was thinking maybe the MAP sensor was bad and making it idle high? Does anyone else have anyother idea? thanx in advance baseball_playa1575 08-21-2006, 08:50 PM Forgot to mention that this is a 5 speed manual transmission. and that the engine was rebuilt about 6months ago baseball_playa1575 08-21-2006, 09:59 PM I just took the fuse out and when I turn the car on the light goes away. Then when I put the fuse in it shows the codes. But shouldnt the checkengine light be on without the fuse if there really is a problem? spy1309 08-21-2006, 10:20 PM It sounds like a lawn mower because you have a exhaust leak either to exhaust manifold , or at the egr valve body, check those. For sure either one of them will trigger a light because a leak in exhaust manifold will pull false air to the oxigen sensor, leak at egr valve same. baseball_playa1575 08-21-2006, 11:43 PM I checked the egr valve and there is hardly any vaccuum. I took the vaccuum hose off and I put my finger over it and I could hardly feel it. What should I do next? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
