to replace this?

Should've done it while I was putting in new radiator - didn't even cross my mind til now.

From what I can tell old one is still working fine.

I replaced my fan clutch two years ago because it was a bit slow to engage. Massive amount of road salt did in the thermostat coil.
The replacement came from a discount parts store - they were the only place around that stocked it on the shelf. (even the dealer had to order and they wanted $170 if I recall) This one cost $55 or something like that. Bad news - it only lasted six months before the friggin' road salt corroded it just like the original. :crying: Crappy warranty too. The Chinese steel just didn't hold up. I haven't replaced it - so this one howls like a dragster with a blower until the RPMs come up when the engine is cold and I've learned to live with it. If anyone tries to steal the truck out of my yard, I'd hear it for sure before they get 20 yards. And no stealth departures for me!
If anyone has a used fan clutch that is still in good shape for the V6, I'm interested!!! Tom

Another case of.

Dealer OEM parts only hurts one time.
Mt said that. :grinyes:

Cheaper aftermarket sound good but in the long run may hurt many times.

Just replaced mine this year, 48K miles. Mounting bracket cracked as well(the triangular piece). cost more than the fan clutch. Got clutch from partsamerica.com for $86, lifetime warranty.
