clock and radio playertk5365 08-20-2006, 03:30 AM I read the thread dated 3-26-06 but unable to solve so i have to ask. My clock works if you tap on it but later it would go out again. I took it apart and can't seem to locate any loose wire. Very possible the clock just went bad. My CD/Radio works but does not light up anymore. 4 years ago, I tapped on it and it will come back on. The glowing light doesn't come on at all now no matter how hard i tap it. I got the feeling my clock will do the same. So my question is... What really make these items go bad? Is there a short in the wires somewhere? I do know both the clock and radio run on the same fuse. Any ideas? 2turboimports 09-18-2006, 11:00 PM haha, mine did the same exact thing. Only it happened while I was driving to Deals Gap in NC. I attributed it to altitude change. I punched it and it worked only to stop working once I came back down to florida (like everything else here). So then I got a new one. Sorry I couldn't answer your specific question about what exactly went bad. :) tk5365 09-19-2006, 09:25 PM I was thinking maybe due to temperature change. How much did your clock cost? My deal hear wanted $80. I walked out. farmerkd1 01-08-2007, 03:11 PM Try another search on this. I can't find the article now, but someone posted a how to on this a couple years ago. It's actually a piece of cracked solder and only takes two minutes to fix - if you know where to look. If not for the article I never would have spotted the crack myself. Takes good lighting and a magnafying glass. freakray 01-08-2007, 06:46 PM Why are we posting in 5 month old threads when the OP hasn't even been online since the original post date? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
