i received a motor has been sitting outside the few months. it got rained on. i pulled the spark plug wires and there was about 1cm of water in each one. i used napkins to get all the water out. should i go anything else before installing the motor?

Since its out of the car...

1)Take off the intake manifold, and clean that out, with carb/intake cleaner and a rag.

2) Plugs, wires, and more than likely a distributor

3) check to make sure that none of the connectors are rusted

4) pull off the oil pan and make sure the is no orange liquid, water, or rust on the crankshaft

It sounds like someone tried to give that thing a bath or the moisture and condesation from sitting outside has built up. Or it sucked up water and hydrolocked. Which would be very bad (assuming that didn't happen). Just some time and patience, and q-tips and rags, and u'll be good.
