Last week I noticed a little bit of anti-freeze on the driveway under my 98 4x4 rodeo. I crawled under and sure enough the weep valve on the water pump was driping. I have 91K, so I knew that I would need to start thinking about a T-belt change soon anyway. I just figured I had a little more time. I would have preferd to do the work myself, but work was crazy then and I needed the car back in a reasonable amount of time. So, I called I checked some online reviews of local shops and picked one. Here is what I had done and what it cost. I would be interested in what other guys have paid for similar work. Oh, I also replaced some other basics since I near 100k service.

t-belt w/ pulley: 233.10
t-belt tension adj. 103.41
water pump: 123.71*
coolant: 14.95
fan belt: 74.56
fan belt tensioner: 89.81
lower radiator hose: 15.24
Upper Radiator hose: 23.71
t/q ceramic brake pads: 74.56*
front rotors: 132.96
brake cleaner: 6.95

*limited life time waranty

add in labor and it was 1,464.21.....and i had just finished paying off the credit card...damn...could have been worse had the t-belt broke.
All I need to do now is fix the stupid fuel gauge sending unit, i have the part, but not the time to do it yet. The mechanic recomended flushing the the entire fuel system. What all should I make sure he does in that process?

$75 for one fan belt? Is this the serpentine, and accessory's too?

All in all sounds about right to have it done in a recommended shop. Labor costs sounded reasonable - about eight or nine hours worth assuming $70 per.

The dealers around here can easily turn a 45 minute job into 2.75 hours worth of labor for themselves. So I think you did OK there. And as for the 'list' cost of parts.........we all have no control over that and none of yours sounded out of range except the belt. I buy many parts and install them myself. NAPA always prints the customer cost and beside it the 2X list price on the receipt to make you think you're getting a bargain. :disappoin

Sorry about the credit card deal...know how that goes - C cards are like little babies that fill the diapers right after you clean 'em up and put a new one on.

Yep, price is about average for all of that.

Mine cost me around $1,030, but I didn't have the brakes done at the time; only the t-belt, t-belt tensioner, waterpump, idler pulley, crankshaft/camshaft seals.
