is there a common problem with blazer ignition modules overheating and failing because of heat issues?

I have a '98 blazer. I was wondering if others have had problems with the ignition modules overheating and failing because the engine bay gets too hot.

Not normally.
Why are you asking?

One thing is sure (if the module is the thing on the coil) It looks similar to the HEI ones. Without the paste it will fail very quickly.

my catalytic converter plugged up and then the ignition module failed. seems to me that the physical location of the ignition module -- above the catalytic converter would make it sensitive to heat issues. btw, the honeycomb collapsed inside a brand new converter installed by mr goodwrench. mr good wrench doesn't want to warranty claiming the ignition module to fail.

Hmm, I didn't realise they were that close. Mine is on the coil on top of engine. I supose some exhaust heat can go up there at a stop, I don't think that is why the module failed.
