again which radiator from Napa you purchased.

Was it part#MO2749?

And is it a direct fit, i.e transmission & oil cooler connections?

Having a hard time finding a direct fit, and everyone I've talked to - common websites for radiator replacements - are recommending strictly OEM for this particular year as other models have to be fidgeted to fit.

I have to make a decision today, and don't have time to search old radiator threads - thank.s!

Direct fit. Modine. Let me run out and look.
P.S. I can't fab anything myself!

2749 it is. $207.77 back in November. All metal I think...

Says on the receipt "1997 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2L 3165 CC V6."

And sorry for not responding yesterday. I usually peek at every thread, but I missed that one! Just took a look now!

I see the NAPA online site wants $288 now?

Ryan: Were you able to get a direct fit through radiator.com? The online sales guy seemed to balk at the '97 Rodeo rad saying he'd heard "horror stories" about fitment.

that is kinda funny. I logged in after that and the online sales person said the same think.

I wonder if that is some sorta automated system ....

both of mine dropped right in with no issues.

If you find something for around 200 I'm sure you will be ok.

I'm guessing it's automated, but they've gotten pretty good at making it seem live!

That's the same comment's I got, about the '97 yr being horror.

Surferfletch - have you had any issues with your's? Does it take same amount of coolant - guess what I'm asking is does it seem to have a greater cooling capacity, or is it the same as OEM?

Prices for all metals have gone up alot in the last year or so. So I'm not surprised the price of the rads have gone up.

China is buying up any kind of metal they can get their hands on, driving up all the prices. Should see what it costs to run new duct work in a house/building now.

Is this your trade?

I didn't notice a difference in the amount of coolant needed, but I wasn't paying very close attention. I think it's pretty close to OEM.

Cool - thanks! Have no arguments against the OEM, has worked great over the years, was hoping to replace it with a 3-row radiator versus another 2-row, but I'm doing it this weekend and unable to locate a 3-row without hearing how "hard" it is to install on this particular year.

i don't know were you live but here in ohio it gets cold in the winter. and my rodeo takes a long time to fully warm up, due to it being aluminum heads and block. it takes alot longer than previous vehicles i've owned, that had a hotter thermostat and cast iron blocks. i would think a 3 core would prolong my misery when it is 10 degrees out? just my .o2cents, might not effect your geographical position and if it does you might not have thought about this angle?

I do commercial HVAC though I avoid anything to do with duct work whenever possible* My boss and a couple of the other techs I work with do residential on the side. For a while they couldnt even get duct work cuz there was a big shortage in sheetmetal. Its available now but still quite a bit more expensive then it was. Copper has gone through the roof lately. Alot of ppl stealing all they can get from abandoned buildings, new developments, etc. Aluminum hasnt gone up quite so much.

*My boss asked today if I could work saturday if needed. Redoing the duct work under a mobile and needs to be done by monday. Told him I already had plans to go offroading, so I got out of it  Now I just have to pick a trail and actually go, cant change my mind.
