97 3.3 Caravan No Left Turn SignalSarnia 08-15-2006, 11:17 PM We've had this problem off and on for a while now. Eevery so oftenthe signal would not work, unless we played around with the the turn signal by flashing the brights on. Now it is completely dead, no left turn signal at all. Checked all bulbs and all is well. Right signal works fine as does the hazard lights. Is there a switch or anything in the column that can be replaced? What way do I turn? Please don't say left. Hoody 08-15-2006, 11:39 PM could be a short due to a worn wire... RIP 08-16-2006, 12:01 AM Yes. The turn signal lever on the left side of the steering column is termed the multi-function switch. It can be replaced. There is a procedure to check it using a volt/ohm meter or test lamp. First thing you have to do is disconnect the battery so you don't blow an airbag. Next remove the lower steering column cover and disconnect the connector to the multi-function switch attached to the left side of the column. Now using the meter check for continuity between contacts 4 and 8 with the switch in the left turn position. If you get continuity the switch is good. Switch it on and off several times to make sure. If not then change the switch. There's a couple screws holding it in. (contacts for the right turn are 3 and 8) Though not likely, another player in the system is the combination flasher module on the junction block under the dash left of the column. Try tapping it or reseating it. Sarnia 08-16-2006, 12:47 PM Thanks guys I'll give it a look. I'll know doubt have more to follow. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
