im gonna do my first mod the cobalt, and that is im gonna build my own Co2 intercooler. Basically im gonna spay Co2 onto the heat exchanger to cool down my intake temps. Im gonna try and stay around 100 bucks for this, but if i need to spend more i will. Im having a hard time finding any kind of guide for this, has anyone here done this before or know of a place to find parts?

Why not find one off a wrecked Evo at a salvage yard, or use a windshield washer for one. Dunno how well the kit would fit though. You'll obviously need a good size reservoir too.

windshield washer fuild spayer isnt what im looking for, thats like cooling the air with air temperature water. Not to mention i doubt the track will like it very much as i leave a trail of water all over the place.

Co2 is extremly cold, colder the nitrous, thats what im looking for.

And i didnt know that Evos came with a stock Co2 sprayer

My misunderstanding. The Evo's don't come with that.

I could swear I remember a 3S owner doing this...but I can't find the thread. I'll look more tomorrow (its 4am), but these are 2 threads I found:

Jayson, If you're serious about doing some nice cooling upgrades then I'd wait and get the upgraded Cobra H/E. It'll do some serious cooling and won't ever run out. Then, if you still want more cooling power then you can always stick a sprayer unit on it.

Spraying super-cold CO2 onto an intercooler full of warm-to-hot air sounds like a recipe for a cracked intercooler. Just my :2cents:

lucky for me people have been doing it for years without that happening, mainly due to the fact that the heat exchanger doesnt get that hot, 200F is about the high temperature it will get, not hot enough to worry about cracking because of the cold.

Why don't you just spray nitrous onto the intercooler? Most people go with that setup with turbocharger vehicles.

I dunno, just my thoughts.

nitrous is about 45-50 bucks a bottle, C02 is about 5 bucks a bottle, Co2 is also alot colder
